1997 Garden

Most of the images below are of the Locoto and Aji Amarillo.

Lucky me, I had fresh peppers well into December of 1997.

This picture is of a flower from the Locoto (Capsicum pubescens) plant. (6/2/97)

This image of the Locoto plant shows the typical leaf structure and the shape of some immature Locoto chiles (7/22/97)

Here we have the first ripe Locoto (8/17/97). It was eaten by my family and I soon after this photo was taken. It was moderately hot (7 out of 10) with a clear difference in heat levels the closer you get to the seed holding areas. It also had a slight sweetness and discernible fruit flavor.

This Aji Amarillo (Capsicum baccatum) was grown in the same barrel as the Locoto you see on this page.(10/4/97)

Same barrel only here you see all the lovely ripe Locoto peppers in the back (10/4/97)

Close-up of some freshly picked Locoto & Aji Amarillo. (10/4)

11/30/97 and my Locoto/Aji Amarillo barrel is still producing. It still has about 20 yet to ripen chiles.
The "Bishop's Crow" peppers in the small wooden container are also doing very nicely.

Some of my Aji Amarillo took on some interesting shapes.
