I must be going crazy because, once again, I have signed up to walk from San Jose to San Francisco - 60 long miles - to help win the fight against breast cancer!
Last year's walk was an amazing experience and I'm so glad I did it. My feet still ache, but it was also a lot of fun and a very rewarding experience. Of most importance, thanks to many of you we raised over $7 million which will support breast cancer research, education and treatment! Not bad for 3 days work.
So why am I doing this again? Many of you know that last year I walked in memory of my Aunt Alda who died in 2001 after fighting the disease for 3 years. Recently I learned another close member of the family has just been diagnosed. Not surprising, since every 3 minutes a man (yes, men can get this too!) or woman is diagnosed. Odds are that you know one of them.
So once again I am asking for your help. Don't worry though – you won't have to train with me or walk those long miles (although a walking buddy is always great!). All I'm asking is for a donation towards my fundraising goal of $3,000 (wow! that's a lot of money!).
Thank you in advance for your generosity, for sharing in this incredible adventure with me, and for helping put an end to Breast Cancer.
